I follow club football casually — mostly the Premier League, La Liga and the Champions League. So I went through all 48 squads at the 2026 World Cup (26 players each) and sorted every player by whether I actually recognise him. Each bar is one national team; hover any cell for the player, club and Transfermarkt market value. Teams are ordered by how many players I know.
Method. Squads & clubs are scraped from the Wikipedia 2026 World Cup squads page; market values and career history from Transfermarkt (values matched for ~98% of players; the rest show N/A). Buckets: I know = an elite club, 3+ years at an elite club, a global icon, or ≥€100m; should know = currently in a top-5 league (England, Spain, Italy, Germany, France); ball knowledge = 3+ years in a top-8 league (top-5 + Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium); nobody = the rest.
